Having just bought my first used iMac G4, i was wondering if there was an option for wireless internet. After doing some research i found the mounting spot for it right inside the bottom panel. When I got the wireless card in the mail, it took me only 3 minutes to install it into the machine. after turning on the computer, it was as if the card had always been there! no drivers to install, no configurations to go through, it was running when the computer started. I searched for wireless networks, and POOF they were all there. even though it is only wireless "b", it still is pretty speedy! And the range is still really good. My wireless router is in the house, in the basement. My iMac is in the loft of the garage 150 plus feet away through several walls, and a stretch of yard, and i still get more than half signal.Customer Review: apple airport card

The vendor shipped almost immediately and the card arrived in perfect working condition. The seller stocked this product as either 'used' or 'new'. The only difference was the price. I purchased the "NEW' product at the higher price. It was advertised to be shipped in it's original anti-static bag.
The airport card arrived in the aforementioned bag HOWEVER, the bag was not sealed and the card was NOT new. It bore scratches and other telltale marks indicating that it had seen previous service. It works fine and I have no complaints EXCEPT: the product is not 'new' as advertised and that is what I paid extra for.
Caveat emptor with this vender!

Apple's airport is handsdown the best implementation of the 802.11 hardware. After 2 years, only a select few PC vendors have copied the internal design (with no adapter to break off) exceptional reception, or first rate software support included in every apple product. Intel's new Centrino product line only recently brought PC laptops up to the level of EVERY Mac portable - for noticably more than the $999 iBook as well.Airport installs easily, and Apple still supports cards for computers going back as far as 3-4 years, something only a select few companies would even bother consider doing. A solid recommendation for this product.

My old AirPort Card failed after almost 8 years of service. This new card came. I slipped out the old one a slipped in this one. It was that easy and now my computer works as before. I plan on giving my this computer to my nieces when I replace it with a new one after MacWorld announcements. I wanted everything working in original condition without using some tacked on USB device even though it may be cheaper and have better performance. The original card just make this truly serviceable computer whole again.Customer Review: it works like a dream

I am a recent convert and just got a new 12-inch powerbook. The retailer who sold it to me was supposed to have installed the airport card themselves, but they did not. The airport card came separately and I decided to install it myself. Not only was it the easiest thing to install in the world, it began working immediately. I'm impressed with how non-technical you need to be and how smoothly you can just do all these things that I would never have dreamt of doing myself in the PC world.
