Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Anycom USB-250 Bluetooth 2.0 400 Ft Broadcom ChipCustomer Review: Works excellent, and also with Vista! Summary: 5 Stars
I got this adapter specifically because it was compatible with Vista.
We had another adapter from our earlier computer, and it was NOT Vista compatible, so that's one thing you have to watch in these devices. We did have to download a patch for it, and that went without a hitch. Acceptable.
The adapter set up well, and worked from the start. It does not also load a ton of other junk wherein it's looking for networks and all kinds of other things. It just one nice little Icon in the SYSTRAY that says "
Bluetooth Devices"
We got it so I could download and upload from our Motorola V550 phones, and it has worked excellent. I have no complaints about this product and it has worked as advertised.
Customer Review: Works with no issues Summary: 5 Stars
After reading reviews of many of the BT dongles out there, I settled on this one. The installation was simple and straightforward on my XP SP2 machine; no driver conflict issues that the other products have had. Make sure you check the AnyCom site ([...]) for updated drivers. After installing, I managed to pair and use my Nokia 6620 phone, Sony Ericsson w810i phone, and a Plantronics BT headset (for Skype). All devices work great and have had no issues whatsoever.
The only issue is with the Sony Ericsson software; they do not support BT connections. The Nokia PC Suite is far superior in their support for BT connections.
Overall, great product. Had it up and running within 15 minutes.
Customer Review: Very Impressive - Best Bluetooth Adapter I've Seen Summary: 5 Stars
I originally bought this for two reasons:
1) Wi-fi for my Treo 650 through a shared BT internet connection on my laptop. I figure a 400 ft range while I'm home is pretty impressive. I knew getting this to work was going to be a challenge but haven't been able to get it to work so far. I'm sure this is no fault of the Anycom 250 - if anyone has any tips for me I'd love to hear them. The connection is working between Treo 650 and laptop but I can't get to the Internet from the Treo.
2) Skype through BT headset and laptop. No complaints - great product and powerful range as promised. This beats a corded headset any day.
I'll likely buy another one.
Customer Review: Excellent device, easy to install and use... Summary: 5 Stars
I've used many Bluetooth devices before. This one was a snap to install on my Windows XP Pro box. There were a few minor error boxes during the intall (mostly as the device was probing for what resources were available on my PC) but it installed flawlessly and everything has worked like a charm ever since. I paired nicely both with my LG VX8600 Bluetooth capable phone and my Palm T3 handheld. There is a wonderful little feature included in the software that enables me to answer my phone (which may be sitting upstairs in my bedroom) from my computer using my computer's microphone and speakers. Very nice.
Customer Review: Anycom USB-250 Bluetooth 2.0 400 Ft Broadcom Chip Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking for bluetooth dongle for a long time. The thing is that I wanted something which will enable working with several different bluetooth devices such as mouse, STEREO headset, keyboard and cell phone. This small thing does it and without any nuisance. I like it. Most of the time I use a mouse and simultaneously listen to music and sometimes chat over Skype. No interference or drops in the process of anything. Flawlees! Small! And YES it works with Vista, Anycom's website provides with all excellent divers and softs you need. I recommend this.
