I don't have a lot to add that hasn't been said by now, which is why I've waited a year before giving my 2 cents. After purchasing and using this for several hours a night virtually every night for the past year I feel I can shed some light as to its durability and functionality. I've never had a problem with it and it does what it is supposed to do. If you look at the top two reviews (by Mark "Technology, Music, and Movies" and Neil S. Majd) I think you will find all the information you need. The rest of the reviews (this included) don't add much. I can only guess than the few who had problems with it giving out after a few days or weeks must have gotten a lemon. As such they should have been able to exchange it. But after a year, mine is still going strong. I bought it as a Gold Box deal in October of 2008 for twelve bucks and I wish I could have picked up a few of them at that price. Overall I am extremely satisfied with this product and would buy again.Customer Review: Perfect Laptop Cooling Solution!

I'm buying another. I've only used this for two weeks but I'm completely impressed so far. My laptop is on all day because it's my work computer - it was running a little hot for me so that's why I bought this originally. Before buying this cooler, my laptop fan would turn on periodically throughout the day and it's really loud (Dell XPS m1730).
Since having this cooler plugged in and on low, my laptop fan hasn't turned on even once - bear in mind I'm in the Caribbean, it's hot, and I'm not in an AC environment. So, this is a winner so far.
- USB powered
- slim design so it fits in my backpack
- two speeds: on low you can't even hear it
- rubber tips on top and bottom stop the laptop from moving on the desk or even on the Antec.
- it works - my laptop is cooler to the touch and I feel better having it on all day long. My PC fan hasn't even turned on once since I plugged this thing in.
No complaints.

My last cooler was from Best Buy and a total waste of money. I purchased this one and now I am quite happy.
The air flow is very even, it pulls hot air out and pushes cool air in. This is the area I am most impressed with.
It comes with tabs to help air circulation between the cooler and laptop.
It is very quiet, I can not hear it at all.
There is a blue light to let me know it is on.
If I have any complaint it is minor, the power cord connecting the cooler to the laptop is quite short but adequate.
This works significantly better than my last cooler. My last cooler was so useless that my computer was hot to touch. I am on my computer for my job an easy 12-18 hours a day, I am very hard on laptops. This cooler is quite different, my computer is warm to touch, not hot like before.
I believe it is a fair price for a quality product. I would buy another as needed.

I've tried many laptop coolers in the past without much success. That being said, the fault for their failure was my own because I'll use it in bed, and having top/bottom ventilation, they tend to suck things up into the fans or the fans would get stuck on the grates. These are nice in that they suck hot air from the laptop and expel it out via the front and side of the unit, thus protecting the fan blade and assembly. I've had mine for about a year now and it still is working excellent, and has no doubt extended the life of my laptop. Only drawbacks I can speak of is that it's a little loud if you leave your machine on constantly, but the low fan speed isn't as bad. That, and the very bright blue power LED emitting from the right side of the unit. Cover it up with some tape or put something over it when you're not using it and problem solved. Antec USB-Powered Notebook Cooler
On a scale of 1 to 10; I give this cooler a high 10. Not only does it keep your notebook or laptop cool, it does so very quietly.
I have never had to turn it up to high, the low setting has worked very well for me. My Laptop is an Emachine which gets only a 3 1/2 heat factor; which is also the best I found when looking.
This will make a great product for anyone that is tired of their notebook or laptop heating up. It plugs into the USB connection, yet still leaves that USB connection open for when you need it.
Always remember a cool notebook/laptop will be a happy notebook/laptop and will last much longer for the extra tool to keep it cool.
The price is a bit high from the sale price I was able to purchase it.
