Customer Review: Cooling you can Quantify!
Summary: 5 Stars

We have a lot of laptops, and I have purchased one of these for each of them. One arrived DOA, but Amazon was great about the replacement. None of the others have had any problems, two of them have been in daily use for more than a year.

Cons: The bottom door (which does nothing critical, but covers a compartment you can use to store the cord) has a flimsy catch; on most of our units it won't stay on by itself, but a little tape fixes this. I just leave the door off on mine, and pack the little cord with my other USB cords that I travel with, it takes an extra second or two only. Maybe you'll be lucky and get one of the 20% where the door works.

Pros-- Quiet! very quiet. And you can see the results--or we can; with Linux Ubuntu on many of our laptops, we can monitor the hard drives' temperatures. Without the Antec on the largest screen laptop (an HP Pavillion Entertainment model), the hard drive temp will go up to 130 degrees F. With the Antec on, the same unit stays between 85 and 90 degrees. Hey, you can't do that with Windows! On most smaller laptops the difference is less, 10 to 20 degrees only, but I can't help but think that this will extend the hard drive life no matter what OS you use.

Customer Review: this product is awsome!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I just got Antec USB-Powered today,
it is very very very quiet
but even though it has two speed power switch,
im still kind feel the fans not powerful enough to keep my computer coolc
(cuz my laptop is very very hot,
if i donft use a cooler pad, when im playing 3D games
for hours, my laptop will froze and auto shutdown)

the next day.....

after a day of testing the Antec USB-Powered cooling pad,
all i want to say isc
the Antec USB-Powered cooling pad is awsome!!

at beginning because of the the fans from Antecfs speed not running that fast as PA248U, and even with its max speed still not able to making a big wind blow like PA248U so i thought this cooling pad wonft be able to cooling my laptop down.

But, i was wrong. i donft know why,
the Antecfs cooling pad is better than PA248U for keeping my laptop cool, with it, while im watching video, my laptopfs CPU temperture will be able to stay around 55-59c (i check the temperture with gEVERESTh)
(with PA248U, my laptopfs CPU temperture usually stay around 62-74 while watching video)

Customer Review: This thing is amazing!

I bought this because it seemed like the table my laptop was on was getting pretty warm after extended use, and also at times the bottom of my laptop was very warm, almost hot to the touch. My girlfriend bought a different pad for her laptop, and when I tried it out on mine, the results were good, but i wanted something a bit more sturdy.

At first I was concerned about this product because it actually pulls air through your laptop and blows it out the bottom, rather than forcing air through it. I did not believe that that would work very well, but after using this, I can say that it works great. The top and bottom of my computer are now cool to the touch, performance is noticeably better, and this thing is super quiet.

The pad itself feels very sturdy, has a nice way to store the USB power cord, and the USB cord itself has a female connector on the back of it, so it does not use up a port.

If you decide against this product, I would also make sure that the pad that you end up getting actually sucks the air through your laptop, because my girlfriends has a fair amount of dust you can see in it that you just know is blowing up into the computer.

Customer Review: In 2007 Design.
Summary: 5 Stars

Don't now about the 2003\4\5\ reviews but in 2007 (maybe designed better) it's seems to be very good in what it is suppose to do. It fits well with my Dell INSP E1505. I wasn't having a heating issue, but wanted to better the chances of my laptop lasting longer.
The fans are quiet (a little sound on high) but what do expect this cooler is not a high priced piece of equipment. It really does cool on this laptop. I've noticed that on high my laptop fan doesn't come on at all. BTW, I have it plugged into my USB hub (Hummm, never thought of that huh;)

I keep the cooler plugged in and use the XPAD when the laptop is deployed or mobile. I don't work for any company and just giving my honest account of this cooler. I do however deal with computers; laptops; and servers all day long as a trade and can say expertly that heat is not a friend to any electrical part (as u already know).

Bottom-line is U can't go wrong with this, just look at your configuration and decide if you need one. If it gets too hot get this or anything that works. This is in ending a very good cooler (I like to say temp stabilizer, it doesn't actually have cooling components;)

Customer Review: Big improvement over the last one I had
Summary: 5 Stars

My previous cooler was made of plastic and had no USB bypass. The plastic eventually cracked over the fan housing and fell inside, disabling the fam. I wanted one that was made of metal this time. This Anted USB-Powered Notebook Cooler is made of metal and allows me to retain the use of the USB port it is using via bipass. The fans are strong and quiet. It's got great non skid feet on the bottom and also on the laptop side to hold it in place. The plug to plug it into the laptop is on the same side as the plugs on my laptop (the last one it was on the opposite side). My laptop continuously runs way cooler. I don't have air conditioning here, and in the summer it's easy 100F for sometimes days in a row. This takes care of the overheating problem even when used on the lap in hot weather. This cooler costs a few dollars more than the others, but the durability and design was worth it to me. I wanted one that would last a long time, and I believe this one will. Bottom line is that I'm very happy with this laptop cooler and I would recommend it to everyone. There is absolutely nothing negative I can say about it. Works like a charm.
