Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Antec Nine Hundred Steel ATX Ultimate Gamer PC Case (Black)

Customer Review: Excellent case with few issues
Summary: 5 Stars

Overall i recommend this case because it does exactly what it was designed to do, keep your computer components running cool. After reading a few reviews, I decided to get this case and I was not disappointed. I recently purchased the i5 750 with an Nvidia 260 gtx with the P55 mobo. This system runs very cool even after moderate over clocking. I have seen in other reviews that the 200 mm fan blades are brittle so, I took extra care of avoiding them while installing the components. Also cable management can be a bit difficult in the Antec 900 but manageable. One thing i didn't like is that this unit was not designed with filters. Even after moderate use, this case tends to accumulate dust very quickly due to excellent ventilation that the case provides. I had to purchase two 120 mm aluminum fan filters and install them on the two hard drive cages to help minimize dust getting on the inside. Overall though, this case is well built and well designed and fulfills its intended purpose to keep your system components cool.

I've been using the Antec Nine Hundred for 3 years now. I love the airflow and ventilation keeps my computer cool. For Anyone looking for a cheap nice case this is it. Has 2 USB ports on top of the case that come in handy. The only problem I noticed about it that after constant use(plugging in and out cords) the USB ports have gotten weak or lose. It used to be able to power up anything I plugged into it, but now it only powers up certain things. I have a bunch of externals and notice that only my newer Western Digitals power up and not my older Seagates or Western Digitals. This case has many spots for fans, but the only drawback to this is that it is a dust collector. I usually try to clean out my case of dust every 2-3 weeks when I'm not lazy. Other than that the Antec Nine Hundred has treated me well. A good all around case or any user. It also comes with Fans that have blue LED lights on them that can be disabled if you cut the right wire if you don't like it or find it annoying.

I bought this case after a co-work had one shipped and I got a good look at it. It is super quiet, it looks pretty, and it keeps my components cool.

I like the top tray and USB/Firewire connectors. The internal is laid out pretty nice. I actually got rid of the both drive bay fan (inner) inserts even though I only needed space for two drives. The fans included were enough for me.

I ran most of my cables through the hole at the PSU area and fan/component plugs out the holes at the top left of the case so my rig is virtually cable free. This was easy with flat modular power connectors that came with the Corsair PSU I have.

In this case my stuff runs at low 30's celcius.

Specs:
Antec 900 ATX Case
Corsair 650W Modular PSU
Asus P5NE-Premium Wifi
Intel Q9450 dual Quad Core
4GB OCZ 1333 RAM
BFG 9800 Video
2x Seagate 500Gb (Raid1)
Asus DVD-RAM

Customer Review: Amazing deal even for the full price.
Summary: 5 Stars

Before this case came along I had a HP Pavilion that ran way too hot and was unbelievably cluttered while trying to run the stock 320 gig, an old 80 gig and a new 2tb drive. I basically had this thing maxed out in every aspect, running the best video card (8800gtx) and the most drives my puny 300W power supply would allow. Then I went to a garage sale only to find this amazing case for just $10 with a 650W power supply. The tool sold the rest of this gaming rig for a damn Mac. Anyway this case is amazing. Adjustable to fit any ATX mobo imaginable. It also has 2, 3 slot, hdd bays that detach for easy installation for drives with 2 80mm 3 speed fans that keep them around 20C. The top of the case has a whisper quiet 200mm fan that will make sure you never have any overheating troubles. Anyway this case is an unbelievable deal for even $200 let alone the sub-$100 prices they are charging on here.

Customer Review: Great case
Summary: 5 Stars

This is one of the best case designs I have ever seen. The big boy fan on top and the other fans keep the computer very cool, but they are also surprisingly quiet. The fully customizable drive bays are designed well, allowing for many different configurations. The bottom mounting for power supply makes sense; I always hated having power cables hang down and interfere with case fans and other things.

The IO port on top is handy for plugging in usb, firewire or audio devices. And the case comes with blue lights pre-installed around the front and back fans, and the case looks good. The little "ipod shelf" (or whatever you want to call it) is also a nice bonus.

I had a couple small complaints. There are no air filters to control dust. And the top panel had only 2 usb ports; I would have liked at least 4 ports. Still a good case and not too expensive.
