Customer Review: For the price, this can't be beat for a HTPC!

There are a ton of Windows remotes out there and if you want every button tin the world on your remote, this may not be for you. But if you are looking for a straight forward remote that is customizable for several different applications and doesn't cost a lot, I think this is a great choice. It even allows you to do some unexpected but useful things like schedule times for the PC to power down each day through the software that runs the remote.
The separate media player software works well to play files across a home network and has played just about every file type I had available but has a small annoyance in that it needs to scan a directory before it can play media in it - a small issue for small directory but takes a long time (2 hours-ish)for very large (500MB or larger) directories.
There were several updates to the software since my original installation so it seems they have been active in improving the software since the version included in the box, but I actually use the remote more for controlling Boxee than I do for the media player software that came with the remote. I already bought a second for my next planned HTPC.
