I wear hearing aids behind my ears, so holding the phone up to my ear gives me no amplification. This has been frustrating for some time now. When I saw this product I was a bit nervous about ordering it because of some the bad feedback. But it hooked up in less than a minute and worked perfectly at once. It is easily adjustable and gives no feedback or unwanted noise. The boost button has not been needed yet. After half a day I can already recommend this for anyone with hearing problems. Yes, it won't work if the buttons are in the receiver and that should be explained in the description. If there is a downside, and it's a small one, it's that the cord could be longer but they're cheap to by anywhere. I bought this amplifier for my 92 yr old Mother to use on her standard old style corded phone. She removes her hearing aid to use it and she loves it. Now it is easier to talk to her on the phone, than it is in person with her hearing aid in. Another feature is that it is portable; you can take it on vacation and use in most all hotel rooms or other friends homes. The 9v battery lasts 4-6 months. Be gentle when changing the battery as the wires may pull loose from the from the battery connector, easily repairable. If you are reading this, Buy it!Customer Review: Great product!

I have a home office call center and spend 8hrs a day on the phone. This product has been fabulous for me! It applifies more than needed at the high setting and the tone adjustment lets you tailor the sound to eliminate any hiss. It even came with the 9v battery needed, included! Highly recommended for anyone tired of asking people to repeat things all the time. I recently purchased this little unit and it works very well. You are able to control both the volume and the tone so that you can remove any "hiss" from the higher frequencies. It is very loud when cranked up. It has a boost function which is even louder - but I haven't even needed to try it. The battery is voice activated to save energy. Runs on an ordinary 9v battery. The only thing I would have liked better is if it was the color black instead of white.Customer Review: Great for Grandma

My 95 year-old Grandmother has a hard time hearing to put it lightly. Even when she remembers to put in the hearing aids, it's still a struggle. This amplifier works wonderfully! And, it's MUCH cheaper than buying a whole new phone. Set-up was simple (just plug it in), and it's very easy to operate (just set it where volume is comfortable, and do nothing else!) Now Grandma can understand was when we call. It's amazing. I would highly recommend it!
