Customer Review: Great Cable, Some Frustration

This cable is great for the price. There is no need to spend any more than $7 on an HDMI cable and there are plenty of independant studies to prove it. The end pieces are pretty small also. This was necessary to accommodate my installation where I had to get the cable between tight spaces.
The only thing that was frustrating was the packaging. Amazon claims that its frustration-free, however the size of the box was a little frustrating. It wasn't frustrating to open the package, just how much cardboard was wasted. I would expect Amazon to pay a little more attention to the environment. It was a pretty big box to put the cable in. I don't mean the box to ship it with, that one was even larger. I mean the actual packaging that the cable came in. That's the frustrating part. I ordered two cables. You would think I ordered a new refrigerator with how much cardboard I ended up with.

I never understood why OEMs didn't include HDMI cables in their product boxes. The latest Xbox 360 still comes with RCA cables, and not even the component cables. The HDMI cables are inexpensive to make, but a lot of manufacturers like to overprice them to project the idea their cables are superior in some way. I think of HDMI cables like USB cables. I don't see people running around buying $50 gold-plated USB cables. Sure there are varying degrees of quality, but everything I've seen and read about HDMI indicated the basic $8 HDMI cables would suffice.
My experience with using the Amazon HDMI cable was a positive one. I use it with my Xbox 360S 250GB and Asus LCD gaming monitor at 1080P. Zero complaints. It just does the job without any problems.

I recently purchased this for my dorm to connect my laptop to my HDTV. I can say to confidence that it was the best $7 I've ever spent. The price completely blows other HDMIs out of the water and the quality of the product is just as good. Couple that with free two-day shipping from Amazon Prime Student and I was so happy with this great discovery. Anyone who needs an HDMI cable should just get this. And with frustration-free packaging, it was easy to open up and use right out of the box.
For those of you who are looking at HDMIs for the first time, they serve the purpose of traditional HD wires, but with the added convenience that all the wires that were previously required to transmit a high-def audio/video signal have been combined into a single wire. This ensures convenience in setups with absolutely no degradation in signal quality.

I have ordered a few of these over the past year or so from Amazon and I've found them to be of great quality and performance even against my original cords which were the high-end Monster cables. I would highly recommend these for anyone looking to replace or add additional HDMI-capable components to their systems and these are a great alternative to those cables sold by the "big box" chains.
The only thing I would point out is that this product, as with most featured as "frustration-free," is a tad more expensive that it's counterpart in original packaging. While the frustration free packaging is awesome and makes everything simpler, for some items it may not be worth paying the extra money to purchase it this way. I guess it's a matter of personal preference.

i don't know how i am sopose to review a cable, its a cable it does what it sopose to do, lol. ok but seriously this cable is built very well the hdmi male ends are nice and sturdy and i love the length of this cable and the quality of Hd it supports is as high as 1080p, one thing i notice about this cable is that it transmits signals fast, the reason i say this is because i have a next hdmi cable and when i put on my ps3 it takes awhile long before the image comes on screen, this one however doesn't take that long so thats a plus. a recommend this cable for someone's how's HD device is far from there HDTV but if you device is close to your TV then get a shorter version of this cable to avoid wire clutter.
