Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI Cable (9.8 Feet/3.0 Meters) [Supports 3D + Audio Return Channel]Customer Review: Works where media bridge didn't. Summary: 5 Stars
A few months back I purchased a media bridge HDMI cable from amazon to use between the HDMI out on my digital cable box and the HDMI input on my TV. After 12-24 hours the signal would be lost and the only way to get it back was to reboot the cable box. I screwed around for over 2 weeks trying to figure out what possibly could be causing this. I did some digging and apparently there is some issues between some cable boxes and some televisions. I even tried two other media bridge cables (that seemed to work fine the other places I was using them) and also another brand cable and had the same result. So after a couple weeks of constantly rebooting the cable box and television, I resigned myself to just using component cables (which seemed to fix the problem, it's been months in that configuration without any issues) which sucks because now I had 5 cables where before I only had one. Also, it double sucks if you have a wall mounted TV. Anyways, the other day I decided to try and use a different brand of cable and see if it made any difference and this amazon cable got pretty good reviews and is very cheap in price. Well, it's been over 4 days and the signal hasn't dropped out between the TV and cable box so I hope this has solved the problem! I'm pretty sure I can edit reviews so if the signal does quit I will be sure to come back here and update this. Otherwise if nothing has changed you can assume the cable worked out for me! I hope this helps somebody else!
Customer Review: great cables, tremendous price! Summary: 5 Stars
I wanted to post a quick review on this cable. I just bought a new 46" LCD tv and needed some HDMI cables to connect my xbox, tivo hd, etc to the tv and I wasn't about to spend $25 per cable for the "cheap ones" at my local store or $100 for the major brand ones. I came home ordered 3 of these cables for $6.50 each and had them shipped to me. The cables arrived in the hassle free packaging and are great quality!
My xbox 360 connected just fine and I got rid of the clunky component adapter, nice to clean up some cables! I then connected my Tivo and got a issue with the HDCP handshake between the tivo and tv and I couldn't see any video. I upgraded the firmware of my new TV following the direcitons in my manual and the error cleared up. The picture with this cable is amazing.
I really don't think you can go wrong with these cables, I bought 3 of them and I plan on ordering more of them as I need them. These are great cables at a great price. You don't need to spend more then this on HDMI cables! These work perfectly and with amazon's hassle free return policy you can return them if they don't work, but honestly isn't it worth a $6 gamble if it could save you 3 times that per cable!
Give these a shot, they are well worth it! I am very happy.
Customer Review: Quality cable at a decent price Summary: 5 Stars
I get a kick out of the clowns at the electronics stores who have been trained to sell the so called high end video cables. I feel sorry for all of the folks who have gotten sucked into the hype and been relieved of their hard earned income. What a joke. An HDMI cable transfers a set of high speed digital on/off signals. Very basic concept and it doesn't require something built for NASA. As long as it is built to a minimum standard the signal that it transmits is absolutely the same as the more expensive cable, basically it works or it doesn't. If someone tries to convince you that there is a difference in real viewing performance I would be very skeptical. It would be like the rich guy trying to tell you that the light from his lamps is of a better quality because he uses gold plated light switches. Trust me the light bulb doesn't care and neither does your TV.
These cables serve to give you a quality product at a price that is commensurate with what is a mature and very commonly used technology.
Customer Review: Excellent on my LCD and my MacBook Pro 2010 model Summary: 5 Stars
This is just a rapid review I wanted to share with any potencial buyer.
This HDMI cable works very good with my 2010 model Macbook Pro laptop. I had to purchase the Moshi Mini DP to HDMI Adapter with Audio Support to get the HDMI output from my mac for around 30 USD, and with this accesory I am now able to send both audio and video to my LCD TV with a single cable.
Whenever you plug in the cable, the mac recognizes which LCD you are hooking up and it loads the settings you created for it (i.e. default screen, resolution, audio setup). The important thing is you set it up to send audio through this cable, after that all you have to do is plug it in and enjoy a movie. It even works with netflix, and you only have a single cord in the way.
The image quality is very good, you can get up to 1080p and 1080i and it seems very good to me.
The cable is built very strong and appears to have a very hard casing, so overall I think it will last for a long time.
Customer Review: Great unless you unplug many times every day Summary: 5 Stars
I did some research and several times was told that up to about 50 feet the HDMI cables do not degrade the quality of sound/video, they either work or they do not. So i needed 7 feet and i bought the 9.8feet, if i had to do it again i would get a few feet longer cause i now believe i don't lose quality by going a few feet longer and i might need the length in the future, I hate it when cables don't quite reach. I think the real issue besides decent quality materials is that the amount of information this cable carries equals the rocketfish and monster brand that cost so much more. My rocketfish looks like it has a sexier end on it but i doubt that the rocketfish does a better job and the Amazon Basics costs just a fraction of the rocketfish and monster cables. It will be years before you'll need a cable that handles more data, and buying something that carries more than this now might not be the right cable in the future. I highly recommend this cable unless you unplug many times every day.
