Customer Review: Great little device for travel.
Summary: 4 Stars

Aluratek AIRJ01F USB Internet Radio Jukebox
I recently purchased a Myine ira internet radio adapter to use at home. This opened my world to internet radio such that I wanted a companion device to use with my laptop on the road. WHen searching for the ira i doscovered this gem. The reviews on Amazon were favorable. The device works as intended and for its application the price is reasonable. It is a little slow loading on my computer (not too bad) but the functionality is just fine for my needs. Very short learning curve. Small for travel. Easy to select, store, and recall favorites. How about one which will work on a MAC as well?
Good purchase in my book - will make doing e-mail on the road much more pleasant instead of the clock radio in the hotel room!

Customer Review: Amazing!
Summary: 4 Stars

I have never been so amazed at the sounds of different music from around the world. So many channels to pick from and no monthly charges. I installed it on Vista and installation was pretty easy - just make sure you turn off your firewall to allow Aluratek to have internet access or add it to your trusted sites. This is a great gift for someone who travels around the world and wants to stay current and up to date with "home" news since there are thousands of talk radio stations as well. It has locked up on me a few times but I can't complain since it is getting information from across the world. This does not happen all the time just during certain times of the day. Figured it is probably due to the radio's internet server being overloaded at a busy time.

Customer Review: Could've got 5 stars
Summary: 4 Stars

Except for the first two times I plugged it in nothing happened, thought it didn't work to be honest but a couple days later I retried and the radio came right up. It is all it says it is however most of the radio stations seem to be on par with a b movie. This would be great for someone in America to listen to news in their home country but I dont really find any outstanding stations so far. For instance one station for upstate NY and I know of many that do broadcast over the net. It would be great if you could enter stations for them to add into it but I dont see that option. All in all its a fun toy and beats surfing the net to find stations you can look by genre, country or top 10 or do a search.

Customer Review: Global Info & Entertainment Search Time Saver
Summary: 4 Stars

Since receiving this device I find I use it daily as a source of search for Global English & Foreign Language information-news and entertainment radio stations. Rather than use "Google" or some other search engine this device saves time in locating global radio sources. The "favorites" feature is straight forward to use and as you use the device more and more you can set radio locations aside in the favorites section. I happen to use the news-talk feature frequently to listen to foreign sources discuss economies and business news rather than the homogenized sound bites we get even on our so called business network radio or TV stations.

Customer Review: Great little device
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought the Aluratek because radio reception in our community is low, and I also wanted to have easy access to European stations. It works quite easily, both on my laptop and older desktop- the software is occasionally fidgety, but not too much of a problem. Once I set up my favorites list I can switch between NPR, CBC-Ottawa, news from Ireland, Hungary, Norway, etc. Best of all I can receive Classic FM from the UK, which is restricted to UK residents over the Web. The sound quality is not at CD-level and even with a high-speed cable connection it cuts out every once in a while, but not any worse than a normal radio.
