I have been looking for a car power adapter with both AC plug and USB port. I am also looking for something compact and not as heavy as my previous ones. I already own 2 that are heavy, cumbersome and surrounded by aluminum heatsinks with sharp corners in every direction. They also need additional wires to plug to your car cigarette lighter outlet which is annoying. Now that I got this, I have been using it for several days - so far, so good.
When I received it, I thought it was the wrong model as it says 150 Watts. I went back to the Amazon page to read the title description again, I realized it refers to the surge wattage rating and not the continuous wattage power which is really 150 watts. Nevertheless, I don't need that much power as I need this only to charge my cell phone, my kids' Nintendo DSs, and from time to time, my old laptop.
I can hear the fan noise when it is plugged, but not as loud as my other power inverters. If I plug it in front of my Accord, the unit is very close to my shift gear, but the thing is, I can rotate it and swivel it to one side, which is nice.
Pros:
- Has all that I need, AC outlet and USB port (1 each)
- Compact for portability
- Comes with 2 USB cables - 1 standard and one micro
Cons:
- Pugly. Devoid of any aesthetic charms.
- Swivel neck is suffering from a stiff neck. I thought I was breaking its neck when I turned it
- Cheap looks, like Dolly Parton.
