Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of AT&T EP5995 - 5.8GHz Expandable Cordless Answering System with Dial-In-Base Speakerphone

Customer Review: GREAT CORDLESS PHONE
Summary: 4 Stars

THIS PURCHASE WAS FOR A REPLACEMENT BASE STATION MODEL AT&T EP5995, as my old system was ruined by a lightning strike. Use of a phone line surge protector would have prevented this.
I have had this system for a few years - I really like it's clarity, the digital recording, and the use of several cordless units. Great product.

Customer Review: GOOD FEATURES BUT ONE DRAWBACK

AT&T EP5995 - 5.8GHz Expandable Cordless Answering System with Dial-In-Base Speakerphone

Overall, I like the phone. The only negative is that it's hard to cradle the phone to your ear if you're not using your hand.

Customer Review: A real value
Summary: 4 Stars

This combination cordless phone and answering device is a real value. The phone has excellent range and clarity. The answering device is easy to operate. The design is functional and attractive. The build quality appears to be good.

For under $60, this is a real value.

I already had the base station and one phone and liked the product...so I bought two expansion handsets. They work great with no problems....

Customer Review: After Nearly a Year, a Review
Summary: 3 Stars

I had a really great V-Tech cordless phone prior to this AT&T, which I ordered in April of 2008. What really shocks me right now is the price of this, as I paid $63.32 back then and it is absolutely not worth more than that. The phone works, but the battery life was never very good to begin with. I do like the feature of having a spare battery, but this entire system is made of cheap materials, and recently I took out the spare battery only to find out it had not charged because the battery drawer didn't close all the way. I think it popped out, because I am anal about closing the drawer and looking at the charge indicator. I'm afraid that drawer is going to break. And the spare battery is my favorite feature. It powers the system during a power failure, as well. I haven't had the phone go dead on me while using it, but the warning indicator isn't very loud when it does go dead when not being used.

The speakerphone and answering machine are okay, and I like the feature of remote listening to the answering machine via handset. This system does have good features, it just seems very cheap as opposed to quality materials.

I wasn't able to find a comparable (to my last one) V-Tech system, and it seemed to me that most of the choices are just not as good as they used to be. I would say this is a mediocre system, not one you would want to pay much for, but okay if you can get it cheap and be very careful with it.
