Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of AT&T EP5995 - 5.8GHz Expandable Cordless Answering System with Dial-In-Base Speakerphone

Customer Review: great phone!
Summary: 5 Stars

I was wondering if a reconditioned version of this phone system would perform as well as a new phone. This phone met or exceeded all expectations. I needed a phone with caller ID, digital answering machine, walk around capabilities, a place to plug in head set for wandering the house while talking on phone....this system did all of that and more. Was also able to choose different ring tones or melodies for different callers, and record custom answering messages.

All in all very pleased with this phone. The biggest shocker was receiving a wonderful phone system for under 50.00, when it was more than apparent that this was more of a 2-300.00 phone system. I received the phone less than a week after placing order, and though the instruction manual (more like a small phone book) was 82 pages...had it up and running in less than 30 min.

My only worry was that, as a refurbished unit, I might experience problems with this phone. Not so, at least not yet anyway. Delivery was fast, product was excellent, price was scary low (in a good way), and more than a month later, absolutely no problems or issues. Love this phone. By the way, I was wondering if the volume on the speaker would be clear and loud enough? More than loud enough, also very clear...unusual, considering I have the phone base 2 inches from my computer stack.

One other thing: This phone also has a place for an extra phone battery in the base of the unit, in the event of power outages, this phone will operate like a corded unit. Usually, walk-around phones (cordless) don't function in power outages, so this is a wonderful option not normally found with walk-around phones, and would be wonderful in the event of emergencies.

The only thing this phone doesn't do is make my coffee or do my dishes. Maybe AT&T's next phone will do those things as well. Great buy, highly recommended!

Customer Review: Love it!

After reviewing cordless phones and looking at them, We picked this one based on consumer report and buyer reviews in addition to features and looks of course. We also needed a multi handset system and this one can support up to 8 handsets. We also needed a system that would not interfere in our wireless computer network. We had a multi handset system which was 2 years old but did interfere and would often cause problems. This was super easy to install and set up. It is similar to using a cell phone and has many of the same features. We love the ability to display pictures and animations along with being able to name each handset which we named for each room they belong in. We have always had problems with knowing where our old handsets belonged and would have to find the empty base from which it had been taken. Another cool feature is that you can record your own music or sounds for your ringer if you want. We also love the intercom capability which our old system had but this is much better. We have had these for almost a month and have had no problems with them or any of the functions or features. We have not set up our directory yet so don't know how that part works yet. The handsets are a little larger than our old ones but still very nice looking and the small bases are very stable which is much better than our old ones. The base unit is excellent in that it is really easy to use all the features on it, it has buttons so you can use the base without the handset which is always nice to be able to answer your phone when someone forgot to replace the handset! It also has a battery storage place which takes the same battery as the system and will allow your base unit to work in case of a power outage. We didn't realize this when we purchased this but would have bought the extra battery at the same time had we known.

Customer Review: We like this phone - recommend it

We had a panasonic 5.8 Ghz cordless phone that we liked for 3 years. Suddenly people complained that they could not hear me that well. We are pretty certain that the "Wireless Extenders Cell Phone Signal Booster - Dual Band YX510 PCS/CEL" we bought was interfering with our panasonic cordless phone. But even w/ the cell phone booster turned off, people complained that they could not hear me well from one of the panasonic cordless phones. Without much science I decided to buy this AT&T unit to see if it would solve the problem and to my delight it did. People here me fine from this phone and I can keep my cell phone booster plugged in. The minor dislike is that my panasonic had one button to press to find missing handsets, on this phone you have to hit 2 or 3 buttons for this. And like most cordless phones the directories on the different handsets are not synchronized (i bought another handset). But overall I like the phone a lot, the speakerphone is great, buttons are clear, has mute button, and automatically back light so u can easily dial at night.

Customer Review: Best Ever

This is one of the best designed cordless phones I'd had or seen! The handset is designed much like a cell phone (without a camera!). It conveniently lists received calls that can be dialed with athe push of a button, it shows the amout of time of each call, and it has a directory. I find the speaker phone on the handset VERY convenient because I can use only one hand, so if I need to make notes while on the phone I don't have to hold the phone to my ear.
Something that took me a short while to troubleshoot was when the monitor on the base would go blank is to disconnect the base for about a minute and then reconnect it and the text would reappear. It's a procedure I learned from the problem with the TV satellite and the broadband internet satellite.
I'm more than pleased with this product!

Customer Review: Brilliant!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This phone does what it promises and does it brilliantly. My wife and I love the LCD display on the handset. The voicemail feature on my vonage easily translates onto the handset. Additionally, you dont have to store the numbers to be able to identify them. If your service provider has a directory service, the phone automatically identifies the name and displays it when the caller calls. The clarity is fantastic. The range for the handset is also good. My wife usually takes the phone with her to our neighbors place and it works well there too. I picked this up on a deal at Amazon for 53$ and its tremendous value for that much. I would surely recommend this to anyone.
