It's a very fair price and this is your basic phone (which is what I was looking for). The sound is good. But what impressed me is that this phone is a QUALITY phone. It is built solidly. It does not feel like those cheap thin weight-less plastic phones now available at Costco or Sam's Club. It doesn't feel cheap. Also, the black color will hide dirty fingerprints. I wanted to replace an existing ATT 210 handset that lasted for 19 years of use. The phone seems to be made well, and works great. No external power is required (in case of power outage). It can be comfortably held "hands-free" between your shoulder and ear. Try holding the newer tiny phone designs on your shoulder, and you will be sweeping up the pieces into a dust pan. Very pleased with this phone. The sound quality is excellent and it is a decent weight and design. This is exactly what I was looking for to replace our 30 year old corded phone. I did not want any bells and whistles since we have a cordless with all the features and only wanted a quality corded phone in case of a power outage. I purchased this phone to replace one of those cordless phones. Because it can be wall mounted, high out of the reach of my young grandchildren and because it has a corded handset that the g-kids can't make off with it; this phone is a great choice for households with small children. Wonderful basic phone with no frills that will continue working during a power outage. It's an AT&T phone not sold by AT&T. However, AT&T (being our phone service company) will ask if the corded phone is working or claim that cordless phones harm the phone line. With the heavy storms pounding us this spring we are happy to have found a seller still stocking this necessity.
