This compact adapter worked fine for me on a 3 trips to China. I also have the Kensington adapter (which lacks a third prong for the two diagonal slanted prong plug configuration in China, but has a fuse). This adapter doesn't have a fuse, but it does has the third prong and worked in every hotel I stayed at in Guilin, Kunming, Dali, Lijiang, Shangri-la, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Wuxi, Yangzhou, Nanjing, Beijing, and Chengde. The third prong does seem to be a bit flimsy, but just be careful with this adapter and you'll be fine.
Bear in mind, this is a plug adapter, not a voltage converter, so when you are in a country with a different voltage, make sure you electrical device (battery charger, etc...) is multi-voltage.
