Customer Review: Great Product, Love the Master Outlet

Since the Sony PS3 has no automatic power-off function and my family has a bad habit of leaving the PS3 power turned on I decided to give this a try. It works exactly as advertised. I replaced a UPS and a Monster power-strip with this UPS. The TV is the Master and the PS3 is on a master controlled outlet. Now, when the TV is turned off, so is the PS3, hooray! I figure the break-even point is about 11 months based on how much electricity the PS3 consumes. I also have a D-Link switch and a Tivo Series 3 on battery backup with this device.
The only thing I would want to improve is to be able to have the master and master controlled outlets function on the battery as well... but otherwise, this does exactly what I want and it still ranks 5 stars for me.

We have been using APC UPS home office systems for a very long time and have always been happy with the products and the service and support. No exception here. APC BACK-UPS ES BE750G 10-Outlet 750VA 120V UPS System. I didn't seem to have the difficulty that others seem to have connecting and installing the battery. While I didn't have any questions about this new UPS I did have a couple questions about the one it was replacing. I used their email support and got rapid and useful technical answers that will help me extend the usefulness of the old UPS to other protection duties. I got this free as a replacement of an old APC backup that failed. Props to APC for shipping me this asap, pretty much no questions asked. Anyway, I have had this strip for about two years now, and have had absolutely zero problems. The power save sockets are a nice feature, except there are only three, and they are for small plug-ins. The power back-up works flawless, and I would recommend this to anyone, despite it being a little expensive. It is worth the investment; if something goes wrong, which it shouldn't, APC is a very upstanding company that stands both by their product, and your valuable hardware attached to it. Not long after I bought my UPS I had a power outage. The computer kept running unphased. The only thing I had to do was unplug the monitor from the slave outlet and into the backup outlet so I could see the monitor to shut down the computer. The UPS kept a log of the outage. In fact, it showed that the power had come on and gone back off four times. This would have played havoc with the computer if it had been plugged into the wall directly. This UPS is a real life saver. The only improvement I could recommend is having a backed up outlet that is also a slave outlet. The monitor is the only device that needs this.Customer Review: Very satisfied

Let me start by saying that this is not my first APC product. This is about my 5th. Have I had problems in the past? Yes but APC took care of the issues quickly and efficiently. I had high hope for this product as well. I've been using the BE750G for about 2 month and so far the product is working perfectly. Others have reported USB communication issues but I have had zero issues under XP Pro. I really like the optional ability to have the UPS power down some of the "unswitched" surge-protected outlets when the computer powers down. Overall, this is a very good UPS for home/home office computers.
