I purchased this UPS to replace another APC UPS. Overall, I am very pleased with the product. Initially, there was a slight stench of overheated insulation/plastic, but that's almost gone (I recall other reviewers mentioning this). The UPS backs up a computer, monitor, Ethernet switch, cordless phone base station, cable modem, and wireless router. I do not use the auto-shutdown software that came with it, so I cannot comment on its efficacy.Customer Review: Great Product - Saved my computer system twice already.

I purchased this to protect my iMac and other computer accessories from power drops and surges. So far the LCD indicator is showing two instances that it saved me. Before I had just a battery backup and i lost my:
*modem
*router
*harddrive
Buying another one Soon!!! My 50" plasma took a drop in voltage and broke. Wish I had the APC on that before hand.
I definitely recommend this product.

This is a very fast UPS!
I connected three computers and 5x22" monitors to it (400W in total). We have daily few seconds blackouts.
Usually with other UPSs my DSL modem resets on blackout. Not once with this one, ever since I installed it two weeks ago (and it was over 10 blackouts).
I especially like the option to keep power consumption always visible on the LCD.

My APS Back-UPS 1500 does its job very well. It replaced 4 older & smaller units. I have 3 computers, 1 monitor, a DSL Modem/Router, and a printer connected to it. Thanks to the aftereffects of Ike, the Back-UPS has been tested several times. It gives me at least 19 minutes to complete my work and shut the system down. That is much better than the maximum of 5 minutes with the older system.Customer Review: Quiet and powerful

I wanted a UPS that would have no problems powering a production machine with multiple monitors, multiple GPU's powered by a AMD phenom X4. So far it's doing it's job quite well, even through power outages. Display screen makes it easy to see how much time and backup power you have. APC is worth the money, I have different models powering different setups, all working without down time.
