Customer Review: Please Read if You Intend To Use With a Macintosh

While this is a GREAT product for use with Google Earth on WindowsXP, beware if you want to use this with a Mac. Mac drivers are still in BETA and are only available as a download from their website. The only application currently supported on the Mac is Google SketchUp. Google Earth IS NOT SUPPORTED for the Mac as on February 2007 (check the manufacturer website for updates on Mac drivers). As a side note, be prepared to endure extra security screening if you pack this device in your computer bag and go through airport security. The base is made of solid metal and will show up brightly on the Airport security x-ray.Customer Review: SpaceNavigator PE

This is an extremely cool device. It is very well made and operates smoothly, clearly a high quality tool. Unfortunately it was not compatible with my system and caused the system to freeze when I used it with PSCS3. I am running 10.4.11 on a Mac dual 1.25 Ghz with 2 GB RAM and a Wacom Intuos 2 as my primary UI for graphics work. I was so impressed with the build quality of the SpaceNavigator that I really tried to justify keeping it, even if I just used it for Google Earth which really rocks with this thing. But, I had to literally force myself to return it.Customer Review: This is the coolest controller

I got this unit to work with my computer at home. I work with Solidworks and photoshop and had read about this unit. Well I got it and it is great. It takes a little getting used to, at least for me, in solidworks, and I love the way you can zoom in and out so easily in photoshop. It also works great with the image viewer that comes with windows, and google earth. Considering the home edition is cheaper than the mouse I own, I think this is a great addition.
No problems after a month, installation was easy, and it looks cool on the desk.

This item takes Google Earth to the next level, especially if you are viewing 3D buildings or geography. You can 'fly around' the entire planet with ease. It is a lot of fun. It is MUCH easier to do with this item than with a regular mouse. I was going to buy a joystick when I found this item. I'm glad I did! I don't think a joystick would work as well as this item. It is also good for Google SketckUp, but does not make as much of an impact as it does for Google Earth. Get it and have fun travelling the globe!Customer Review: Exellent for Modeling

It is amazing to me how many people bought this to play with google earth! This device is really intended to be used in a solid modeling program such as Catia, SolidWorks, ProE, etc. And it is great, takes a little while to get used to, but once you are used to it you will love it, it changes the way you work and makes designs go much faster. Gotta give it to 3D Connexions though, there marketing team seems to have done a great job getting this sold outside of the 3D modeling market!
