I absolutely love this thing. I bought it here at Tiger on a whim after seeing it on the right side when I was looking for something else. I saw the reviews and the good price, and bought it. It was probably the best purchase I've made in the last 6 months. It has increased productivity so much. took about a day to get used to. It was so easy to integrate it into my everyday work flow. I can really see now why people say they now can't go without it. It works with a whole range of programs, and as a student, that really helps. I'm thinking of upgrading to the SpacePilot because of the extra programmable buttons. I feel I could be even faster if I don't need to move my hand from 3d mouse to keyboard every now and then.Customer Review: A "Must Have" Addition to Your Sketchup Workstation

I bought this gizmo specifically for use with Sketchup. I am happy to report that the SpaceNavigator's "six degrees of freedom" functionality truly augments and extends SU's navigation commands. My favorite feature is *roll*, which enables you to make your SU model pirouette like a ballerina. Try doing that with SU's *orbit* command! However, be forewarned: if you use SU 6 you'll have to download the latest driver. Also, SU elements such as trees that have a high polygon count do tend to create significant lag in the SpaceNav's screen rendering. But, hey - when I turn my trees off, SpaceNav simply flies! Last, but not least, this input device is well crafted, handles well, and will look great on your desk. :)Customer Review: Unique 3D input device

Autodesk Inventor 2009 Essentials PlusThe Essential Blender: Guide to 3D Creation with the Open Source Suite BlenderThe functionality of the device is excellent - especially for users of 3D modeling routines like Blender, Adobe Inventor and Rhino3D. You have to try this item to see how great it is for Google Earth.

Money well spent. This product is a joystick for 3D software applications and makes navigating 3D space EASY! The controls are simple pull the control knob up or push down to move vertically, push on the sides to move in any direction horizontally, twist left or right to rotate left or right, tilt the control in any direction to rotate in that direction. Does not replace your mouse. Control your application using the mouse with one hand and navigate 3D space with the other using the Space Navigator. Your 3D application must support this device, some do and some do not, so check with your 3D software vendor or the 3dconnexion website for a driver/compatability list.Customer Review: Love it!

I got this 3D mouse specifically to use with Autodesk Inventor and Solidworks and it works great with both of them. Not only that, now that I'm used to navigating with it - I struggle whenever I don't have it, it is 100% more intuitive than the native navigation you have to battle with your 2D mouse. For anybody doing much 3D CAD work, you gotta get one!
I'm impressed with the quality look and feel of the unit and how well it stays put even when you pull vertically up on it. It took me about 10 minutes to get the drivers installed and the "feel" configured to my liking in both apps. Highly recommend this unit!
