Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of 3dfx Voodoo3 3000 AGP Graphics AcceleratorCustomer Review: good card Summary: 4 Stars
The Voodoo 3 is a great card that replaces both your 2d and 3d card. As far as graphics go, it is only a little better than the Voodoo 2. I did notice that the lighting effects are more realistic though. If you have a Voodoo 2, then the upgrade may not be worth it unless you just want one card for 2d and 3d. Over all though, I think this is one of the best accelerators out there. The price is nice also.

I have assembled over 1000 computers since 1991 and I have compared the Voodoo 3000 to the RIVA TNT2 and in all 3d games I tried (Quake, Unreal and Ultima IX)the Glide was a better performer, however I recomend attaching a fan to the Voodoo as it does run hot, and has dropped out on me until I did.
Customer Review: My quest has ended! Summary: 4 Stars
After trying Savage4, TNT, TNT2, TNT2 ultra, rage128, etc. 3dfx V3 3000 is the first to install and work as promised. No hiccups. Very user friendly. Sure no 32-bit support, but, come on, is there really an appreciable difference with or without it? Those who say so, don't own one!
Customer Review: Voodoo card is nice Summary: 4 Stars
It plays games real good. no problems. installation was a snap. But plays some of my movies in asf format real bad. Bunch of yellow lines and crap. comes with nfs3, descent, and some other game
Customer Review: Good card, but lacking somewhat Summary: 3 Stars
The V3 3K is a good card for the mainstream, budget gamer. However, if you are looking in this price range, I'd go with an nVidia Riva TNT2 Ultra--unless you really like to play nothing but old Glide games. If you're willing to spend the extra $$, go with either a GeForce2 GTS(64mb), GeForce256 DDR(I own one--very fast, though not quite as fast as the GTS previously mentioned), or a Voodoo5 5500.
